The most pivotal presidential election in United States history is less than a month away.


Trump. Biden. Republican. Democrat. No matter who you decide to vote for, your biggest vote should be to the Black community. Voting at the ballot box is fine, but there needs to be something more. Something long-lasting that isn't threatened by the political whims of a white supremacist system that is either indifferent or actively against the needs of its Black citizens. What we need now is true Black Power.

The need for your voice to be heard is just as prevalent today as it was years ago. The future of the Black community shouldn't be decided by a presidential candidate. You have the power to control the future of your family and finances.

The greatness and unique ability of black people to overcome the challenges that lie in front of us right now requires that we lean on our God-given greatness and learn from those who share information that will empower us for the future.

The rich history of black people fighting in the struggle is one that defines the essence of who we are as a people. We have lifted mountains and done the extraordinary. We've overcome obstacles that are simply unimaginable for mere mortals.

WILLIE D.

Hip-Hop Pioneer, Entrepreneur & Host of Willie D Live - ABNC Panelist

Willie D, born Willie James Dennis, is an American rap artist from Houston, Texas, that showed early promise as a boxer. He went on to become the Golden Gloves Champion of Texas while he was still in high school. However, rap music caught his attention, and he decided to shift his focus. He was subsequently tapped to join the lineup of the Geto Boys, and the group burst onto the national music scene in 1989 with their album, Grip It! On That Other Level. The album was later certified Gold. The group’s follow-up album We Can’t Be Stopped fueled by the hit single “My Mind’s Playin’ Tricks On Me”, which was co-written by Willie D, immediately went platinum and catapulted the group to superstardom.

 

Willie continued to release successful singles and albums both as a solo artist, and with the Geto Boys, throughout the 90s. From 2013-2017 Willie wrote the top-rated advice column, Ask Willie D that was published in the Houston Press. In addition to his music career, which has continued to this day, he also tours with the Geto Boys, is the executive producer for the Willie D Live podcast and YouTube Channel, which receives over 1 million weekly views. 

Tariq Nasheed

Best Selling Author, Media Personality and Film Producer - ABNC Panelist

Tariq Nasheed is a New York Times best-selling author, documentary film producer, music producer and media personality. Nasheed created the popular Hidden Colors documentary series, which explores the untold history of Black people globally. In addition to the 5 installments of the Hidden Colors series, Nasheed also produced and directed the documentary film 1804: The Hidden History of Haiti.

 

Nasheed is also the author of several best selling books including the New York Times best seller The Art of Mackin'. Nasheed is also a producer/group member the R&B music group Mink Slide. Mink Slide's second full length album Crushed Velvet debuted this week on Billboard's Top Album Sales Chart. Nasheed is currently working on a new documentary film entitled Buck Breaking which explores the history of sexual and psycological exploitation of Black people.

Dr. George C. Fraser is Chairman and CEO of FraserNet, Inc., a company he founded over 31 years ago, to lead a global networking and economic development movement for people of African descent. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was an orphan and foster child for 15 years. He spent 20 years in leadership positions with Procter & Gamble, United Way and Ford Motor Company before starting his own business, FraserNet Inc. in 1987. REBECCA SAMUELS, CPA, EA

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and an Enrolled Agent (EA) - ABNC Panelist

Rebecca Samuels is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and an Enrolled Agent (EA) located in the Washington DC area with strong Connecticut ties. She has worked in the Accounting and Finance industry since 2000, with humble beginnings as a teller for two regional banks, a cashier and back office accountant for a major grocery store, and a sports bookie for a major betting company. Over the course of her career, she has managed, accounted for, and secured hundreds of thousands of dollars for employers and clients combined. 

 

Rebecca graduated with her Masters of Science in Accounting in 2015 and has undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Criminology. NICHOLE T. COMPTON, JD MBA

Attorney, Entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker - ABNC Panelist

Nichole Taylor Compton is an attorney, entrepreneur, motivational speaker and business advisor. She owns multiple businesses including her own law firm and business consulting firm, Biz.Law.Life! Nichole’s primary mission is to educate, equip, inspire and provide advantages to Black and disadvantaged business owners. Outside of her businesses, Nichole is also a local celebrity, TV legal analyst, radio and television host and published authors.

 

Nichole Compton holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the renowned Berea College, and Juris Doctor & MBA in Entrepreneurship.  Among other honors, Nichole is a Bar Association Leadership Academy graduate, Ed Perry Fellow, Bell Award nominee, Kentucky Bar honoree, and numerous awards’ recipient for her work with youth and students.

JULLIEN GORDON

Jullien Gordon is a 6-time author, 5-time TED speaker, and has been featured on MSNBC and Fox and in Forbes and INC Magazine. Ronic West is a serial entrepreneur, community leader, philanthropist, and business activist. She is the daughter of Lana and Ronald West. She is a proud mother of her only daughter. She is originally from Indianapolis, IN and currently resides in Augusta, GA but also previously lived in Memphis, TN. She currently serves as President of the Greater Augusta Black Chamber of Commerce and is also the co-founder. Ronic has received several awards for her work in the community such as but not limited to the Shero Award in Business, Worth The Investment award, and Person of the Year and she was honored in 2020 as the first Black Woman President of the Greater Augusta Black Chamber Of Commerce by her local NAACP chapter. Entrepreneur And Philanthropist - ABNC Panelist

Andre is a nationally acclaimed entrepreneur and philanthropist. Andre is the owner of The Black Real Estate School, Andre’s Notary School, The Notary Business School and co-founder of Buy Black NYC. Known as “Mr. Buy Black,” Andre is the driving force behind the national Black Business Challenge social media campaign that encourages African-Americans to patronize Black-owned businesses, record feedback about their experience via their cell phone, and then post the footage online using the #BlackBusinessChallenge hashtag.
